Italy, Here We Come!
Sylvie and I have decided to go to Italy for our honeymoon. This works well for several reasons. First of all, I love Italy. It’s where a part of my ancestry comes from. I particularly love Firenze (Florence), and Venice.
Part of that is the renaissance flavor. Our wedding will have a medieval feel to it, where there won’t be any tuxes or flowery dresses. The wedding will have a Celtic theme, and the dresses as well as the men’s apparel will be renaissance-like, with a touch of modern flair and romance.
After the wedding on August 13, we’re going to leave for Italy on or around the 18th or 19th. We have friends there, and we will likely rent a piazza or villa in a small town called “Sienna,” which is near Florence and Venice. (And not too far from Rome, too.)
Especially Venice, which is the quintessential “romance” spot in Italy, is a must-visit. We’re definitely going to ride a gondola while there.
Immediately after our honeymoon, we’ll make a short stop in London UK, as Sylvie and I are both speaking at Focus4TheFuture.com seminar in the UK.
Mike Filsaime is speaking there, too. Even my best man, Craig Perrine, will also be speaking at the same event, so it will be a lot of fun!
The nice thing about it is that John Reese will be in Scotland around that time, and we’ll hopefully get to hook up while there. And not too far from our villa is where copywriter extraordinaire Tim Warnock lives (transplanted from California), and we’ll hook up with him, too.
I’ll also try to meet some other top copywriters who live in Europe while I’m there, including Simon Grabowski, Erik Mulder, Alan Forrest Smith and many, many more.
It’ll be a blast!
We’re leaving on or around August 18th, the following weekend, and will be gone for about 2 weeks.
We’ll post more as we get more information.

Mike & Sylvie …
My wife & I also spent our honeymoon in Italy! It was the best decision
we made! May I suggest you visit the Amalfi coast and take the
ferry over to Capri.
You cannot find a more romantic place in the whole world.
Best of luck and fun in Italy.
Barry

Thank you! We’re going to have a lot of fun, too. By the way, on our way back we’re making an unscheduled (well, now scheduled) stop in London, UK, to speak at Focus4TheFuture Seminar.

Hey Mike,
I just saw this – congrats on the nice site.
I look forward to you guys coming over here to Italy. Right now it is absolutely beautiful (spring) – and as you will see, August has it’s own late summer charm. It will be great fun for you.
Couple of small corrections from your post: Sienna is halfway between Rome (south) and Florence (north) – but Venice is North of Florence about 3 hours drive- no biggie, just so you know.
Nothing against Ohio – but I’m originally from San Jose, California (who knows were Ohio came from?)
And to confirm what Barry said – the Amalfi coast is stunning – but so you don’t end up spending too much time in a car – you might want to plan a second trip, and a third, and a fourth…
All this varied beauty deserves it.
Take care,
Tim Warnock

I knew I could have been wrong on Sienna. I just want Italy, who cares where
Well, of course, that depends.
But as for Ohio, I’m sure I saw it somewhere. Then again, I’m glad I’m a copywriter, not a geographer.
I’ll fix those in the post…
